Outsourced Bookkeeping for Canadian Businesses

Outsourced bookkeeping means a dedicated external team records every transaction, reconciles your bank, credit card and merchant accounts, and closes your books on a fixed monthly cycle. You keep ownership of your accounting file — YNL works inside it, hits an agreed cut-off date each month, and hands you statements you can actually make decisions from.

What’s included

Transaction recording and categorisation

Every bank, credit card, merchant and loan transaction coded to a consistent chart of accounts, so your reports mean the same thing in March as they do in November.

Bank, credit card and merchant reconciliation

Full monthly reconciliation of every account, including Stripe, Square and Shopify payout clearing — the step most DIY books skip and every accountant has to redo at year-end.

HST/GST tracking and filing support

Input tax credits captured correctly through the year, with a reconciled HST liability account and a filing-ready summary each period. Ontario businesses charge 13% HST; we track the split so remittances are never a scramble.

Month-end close and financial statements

A closed period each month with a Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statement, plus a short plain-English commentary on what changed.

Year-end file for your accountant or CPA

A clean, reconciled, adjusting-entry-ready file delivered to whoever prepares your corporate return — which usually lowers what they bill you.

Catch-up bookkeeping

Behind by months or years? We scope the backlog, quote a one-time catch-up fee before starting, then move you onto a monthly cycle so it never happens again.

How it works

    Scope

We review your current file, transaction volume and account count, then quote a fixed monthly fee.

  3. Step 3

    Monthly cycle

Transactions coded, accounts reconciled, period closed by an agreed date every month.

  4. Step 4

    Report

Statements and commentary delivered through your secure client portal.

Bookkeeping questions

Which accounting software do you work in?

QuickBooks Online and Xero are our primary platforms, and we also work in Sage and Wave. We work inside your file rather than moving you onto ours, so you keep ownership and can leave with your data at any time.

Do I still need an accountant if I outsource bookkeeping?

For a corporation, yes. A bookkeeper maintains the records; a CPA files your corporate return and signs off on year-end. We deliver a reconciled year-end file to your accountant, which usually reduces their hours and their invoice.

How far behind can my books be before you take them on?

We routinely take on files two to three years behind. The backlog is scoped and quoted as a one-time catch-up project before any work begins, so there are no open-ended hourly bills.

How much does outsourced bookkeeping cost?

YNL publishes fixed monthly pricing starting at $995 CAD for Essentials. The driver is transaction volume and the number of accounts to reconcile, not hours worked.
